New Jersey Branch
Our mission is to reach out to families with special needs through recreation, education, support, and training (R.E.S.T.). Programs include recreation and respite nights for children with special needs and their siblings, sibling scholarships for graduating seniors, and helping community organizations and events become more accessible. For adults with disabilities, Ability Tree NJ also offers Ability Camp each summer and SociAbility events throughout the year.
We help community organizations and events become more accessible and inclusive. Some examples include partnering with the Robbinsville Recreation department on their Valentine’s Party, the Robbinsville PBA for their Egg Hunt, and the Robbinsville State of the Township Pay It Forward project.
Thanks to the support of Novo Nordisk and their Take Action Challenge, we are hosting our first 5K run and 1-mile walk!

Respite Nights allow parents a rest while their children with and without disabilities play with each other and our trained volunteers. Respite Nights are currently scheduled on a Friday 6-9pm every other month (with plans to add more). Most events are free to attend but registration is required. Locations vary based on event.
SociAbility events provide adults with disabilities to get out of the house and socialize around a fun event. Come out and reconnect with old friends and meet new ones! Dates to be announced. Locations vary based on event.
Community Events include our Fall Festival at Johnson’s Corner Farm and our annual Christmas Party.
Sibling Scholarships are awarded to NJ high school seniors who have siblings with disabilities.
